Peace River Wildlife Center
If you love wildlife, you’ll love the Peace River Wildlife Center. Tucked away in the mangroves overlooking Charlotte Harbor at Ponce de Leon Park in Punta Gorda Isles, Peace River Wildlife Center is a wonderful way to view rescued South Florida Wildlife. With the help of local citizens, rescue volunteers, and Charlotte County Animal Control, around 2,500 injured, orphaned, and displaced Florida wildlife animals are rescued each year. You can visit the center for tours every day from 11 am to 4 pm.
Alligator Bay Distillers
Alligator Bay Distillers is a trendy craft distillery located in beautiful Punta Gorda, Florida. Family-owned & operated, this small-batch distillery produces traditional handcrafted award-winning rum made from 100% Floridian blackstrap molasses. Open to the public for free tours; you can meet the brothers behind the name and get a lesson on how they produce their traditional handcrafted spirits — not to mention, you can enjoy some free tastings!
